Control laser beam
   
 

The way in which the laser beam arrives on a part is of course an essential element of the knowledge to make as regards processes. Two types of approach are possible according to the application: a displacement of the laser beam or a displacement of the part with fixed beam. In the first case one uses special devices (called “scanner”) which manage the very fast displacement of the mirrors, in the second case of platinums of displacement, being able to reach the micronic precision sub, are used. The data-processing management of the whole of these devices is one of the keys of the laser industrialization of the processes. The company IMPULSE particularly invested in this field. In addition to the quoted devices, the company controls the use of new components called optical valves (patent deposited). These components make it possible to control the phase of a light wave and not only its amplitude as it is the case during the use of masks on the beam. One can thus give various forms to a laser beam (square, out of ring,…) a little as when one changes the shape of tool on a conventional machine of machining. This technology is transferable besides with any type of laser impulse, especially for applications of marking.
